Digital Camera use made easy. Learn what all your buttons
and options and scene modes are for, as well as when to rely
on the automatic mode. Your camera can do more than you
might imagine. Learn to shoot the way the pros do, with shooting
tricks for all sorts of photo situations from action shots of kids to beautiful landscapes.
Any kind of digital camera may be used for these courses. It would
be nice if it had a Manual Setting, but all-automatic camera owners are welcome, as well as those with neat new DSLRs.
You will learn all about f/stops, shutter speeds, depth of field, white balance, ISO's, close-up macro photography, and portraits.
Also how to make amazing e-mail and web photos, and a brief introduction to Photoshop. This is really a fun course, our most popular, and it ends with
a short evening field trip to take time exposures. And any classes you might happen to miss can be made up for free during one of our later semesters.
The Beginning Digital Camera Class will be offered again starting on Tuesday, October 12th.

Creative Digital Photography
Thursdays 7:30-9:30 pm starting September 16th
4 Weeks of Classes plus
4 Weeks use of the Digital Lab $150
If you have a little experience with your Digital SLR, this is your course. After a brief review of the basics we will cover subjects like filters, polarized light, histograms, color temperature, characteristic curves, black and white photos, burst shooting, HDR, RAW vs. JPEGS, panoramas and more. You will learn to use all these options more creatively, and move on to making artistic photographs:
The Fine Art of Composition.
You will learn how seeing and light work together to make a picture great. Also, you will learn the essential techniques of using Photoshop like a darkroom; burning and dodging to complete your image. Ansel Adams once said, "90% of our photographs need to be burned and dodged", and today, Photoshop is the way we do that. You'll see how professionals finish up their photographs. It's
easy and fun, once you know how,
and
way faster than the darkroom, most of the time.
To Register for the Creative Digital Photography Class, call Don Oberbeck at 303-444-4568 before Sept. 16th.
And, as always, any classes that you have to miss can be made up during any following semester.
The Creative Digital Photography Class will be offered again starting in November.
